Twenty Years, Our Story
ConvertGo started as chillmedia NORTH in 2006 out of Hudson Valley, New York. A boutique PR and marketing firm for small businesses like farms, festivals, record labels, restaurants, real estate, hotels, retreat centers, and mountain resorts. If you had a story worth telling, Elissa Jane wanted to tell it.
Over twenty years the business evolved. She moved to Denver, planted herself in RiNo, and kept building. The client roster grew. The scope deepened. And something became clear — the work that lit her up, the work she was best at, was organic marketing. Brand building. Storytelling. Making businesses feel like something before you spend a dollar on ads. So that became the focus. Everything else she started partnering out to agencies who do it best. The work got sharper. The clients got better results. The relationships got longer.
In June 2025, business got big enough that EJ had to make a decision. Grow or cap. She grew. She built a team of implementors trained in the ConvertGo way — brand mapping first, story second, execution third. Nothing templated. Nothing that looks like every other agency's work. Twenty years, two cities, 182 clients, and 5,000 plus campaigns later, we landed exactly where we were always headed. The place where earned media, technology, and brand storytelling all come together.

Thirty years of brand storytelling. A few cities. EJ is the brain, the strategy, and the obsessive energy behind ConvertGo. She comes in as your CMO — at the strategy table, leading the vision, making sure every touchpoint is pulling from the same story. She is not a contractor you brief and forget. She gets inside your brand and stays there.
The fractional CMO thing was never a pivot. It was just the honest name for what she had always been doing. Every client she has ever worked with got more than a marketing person. They got someone who sat in on strategy calls, challenged their operations, rewrote their positioning, built their brand from scratch, and stayed in it for the long haul. She was always the marketing department. The title just caught up.

Where are we headed?
We are growing deliberately. Going after funded startups and growth-stage companies who need a real marketing partner at the table. Expanding into affiliate and influencer marketing. Building proprietary systems clients can eventually take in-house when they are ready. All of it from RiNo, with the same obsessive attention to brand storytelling that has driven twenty years of this work. Still edgy. Still creative. Still showing up in spaces before everyone else gets there.

Why this rebrand. Where it really comes from.
Summer of 1986. Elissa Jane is 17 years old, downtown Manhattan, no grownups anywhere. She learned to use a subway token and disappeared into the city. Thompson Square. Saint Mark's. SoHo. The clubs. She is at Area watching Dee Lite dance in the windows. She is at Danceteria for No Entiendes a weekly variety show that mixed vaudeville, burlesque, and performance art into something so weird it looped back around to genius. She is in the shark room when DJ Kioki spins for the first time. She is at Palladium when Junior Vasquez is playing. She is in rooms where Madonna is not quite famous yet and the Beastie Boys are still figuring out they are about to change everything.
Basquiat is on the walls. Keith Haring is painting on the street. Graffiti artists with code names are turning the city into a gallery that nobody asked permission to open. Hip hop was thumping on the street and at the Underground. New wave is colliding with punk. The underground is alive and electric and completely ungated. She is making flyers for club parties, meeting people on the absolute verge of what's next, watching entire scenes get born in real time. No rules. No grownups. Just a city making new things happen and a 17-year-old absorbing every single bit of it.
That summer taught her something she has never forgotten. Fitting in was the least interesting thing you could do. The people who mattered were the ones who showed up in spaces others hadn't found yet, who made things that didn't exist yet, who were proud of being one of the ones who stood apart. She found her individuality that summer, and it never left.
ConvertGo's rebrand is a nod to that summer. This agency was born with that feeling that something is about to happen. This is what we do. Create from possibility and being ahead of the trend before it happens. The belief that weird and unexpected outlasts safe and polished every single time. We are not here to make your brand look like everyone else's. We are here to find what has never been made yet inside your business and make it. That is what Elissa Jane learned at 17 in the underbelly of the subversive downtown scene in Manhattan.
